Floral Assistant Manager Position

 

Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for artistically arranging flowers to make wedding bouquets, wreaths, corsages, and other decorations. Works as a team to set up and break down of events.

Experience

High-End wedding + event floral designer

3 years experience preferred.

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.

A working knowledge of safety practices and procedures of event set up and tear down.

Working knowledge of floral and wedding design.
General shop experience in processing, designing, wedding and event planning, and execution.

Excellent customer service skills.

Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

Ability to work in a team and/or lead a team of designers.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Arrange both real and artificial flowers for clients and events.

 

Must be able to drive a delivery van and lift up to 50 lbs.

Design chandeliers and ceilings using ladders - production designing for multiple weddings and events per week.

Cleans and organizes floral shop regularly.

Fill special orders for holidays or other occasions.

 

Assist with holiday decorating and break down.

 

Works with head designer to fulfill client’s vision for weddings and events.

 

Works with a wide range of foliage.

 

Unpacks flowers and prepares them for storage.

 

Delivers flowers as needed.

 

Consults with clients and presents oneself in a professional manner.

 

Has great customer service skills and maintains positive attitude and professionalism at all times.

Education: Elevated Position, 3 years related experience preferred.

Hours and Availability

To start, this position would be part time, 15-25 hours a week through the spring. Advanced training and development would take place through fall and winter months. This position would become full time (30-40 hours a week) in May of 2025 before wedding season starts.

 

Hours vary depending on business demand.

Benefits and Pay

Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week. Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.

This position starts at $18 - $22/hr, based on experience, with the opportunity for an increase after training in May 2025.
