Bar Manager Position
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for overseeing serving of food and beverage with friendly, individualized attention focusing on the company core values. Works to maintain proper inventory levels and trains bar and waitstaff. Creates new and exciting drink features, promote and grow the bar program, helping in planning promotional events.
Experience
2-3 years experience as a bartender is preferred.
Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.
A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of safe food handling and TIPS certification required.
Excellent customer service skills.
Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
Ability to work in a team. Ability to think critically and efficiently.
Be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of alcohol or non-alcohol beverages maintaining the highest quality and consistent customer service.
Manages bar inventory, budgets, licenses and resources.
Trains new bar staff and works with current staff to maintain high bar standards and ensure that quality and safety controls are being followed.
Work with liquor vendors to develop new productions or promotions for the bar, creates new bar features and works with management on new menu offerings.
Negotiate with vendors, update vendor contracts, and order supplies.
Maintains professionalism and is friendly and approachable towards guests and staff, responding proactively to customer complaints.
Recruit, interview, hire and train bar staff in conjunction with GM and AGM.
Reports directly to the General Manager.
Complies with all food and safety procedures.
Tastings to be handled as a professional business transaction.
Orders sufficient product from vendors and maintains accurate inventories.
Works with management to understand the budget and inventory record keeping, and ensures bar is profitable.
Works as the sommelier on the floor and behind the bar.
Checks identification and confirms it meets legal drinking age.
Performs all other preparational tasks in the bar area.
Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations.
Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisors.
Assists with special events as needed.
Greets all guests warmly to develop customer loyalty.
Adheres to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Reports safety hazards and all employee accidents to General Manager or Assistant General Manager on duty.
Maintain service areas and delegate side works duties for overall productivity.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Experienced bartender position. 2-3 years related experience preferred. Must be TIPS certified.

Hours and Availability
Typical workweek: 40-55 hours
*May be more hours during high event seasons.
Hours vary depending on business demand.
Benefits and Pay
Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week. Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.
This position starts at $56,500 - $60,000 / year - based on experience
