Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.  Supports the accounting operations of the organization and assists with the processing of payroll data.

Experience

 

2 years progressive experience in the accounting/payroll field is required.

Work with PAYCOM payroll processor preferred.

A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of the accounting industry.

Ability to effectively communicate details and requirements to other departments and guests.

Working knowledge of computer using basic software.

Excellent customer service skills.

Strong organizational skills and accurate work practices.

Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

Effective verbal communication.

Ability to work in a team.

Must maintain employee confidence by keeping information confidential.

Ability to work in non-designated office environments

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Records daily sales and maintains accounting records by making copies, filing documents.

 

Able to multi-task in a fast paced hospitality environment.  Flexible and able to work with a team. 

 

Has complete knowledge of the accounting software and journal entries, particularly with regards to payroll entries. 

 

Balances team and individual responsibilities and will help accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks in timely and accurate manner. Gives and welcomes feedback. Contributes to building a positive team environment.    Recognizes accomplishments of other team members. 

 

Maintains the utmost confidentiality with regards to payroll and accounting information.

 

Handles invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payables as needed. 

 

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field.  2 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language: Ability to write general business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, vendors and co-workers.

 

Computer skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn new event planning software programs, payroll software programs and accounting software programs.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Carries out any supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Hours and Availability

Typical workweek: 40-50 hours

*May be more hours during high event seasons.

 

Monday – Friday: 9am - 5pm

 

Saturday & Sundays: As needed, according to event schedule.
