Floral Designer Position

 

Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for artistically arranging flowers to make wedding bouquets, wreaths, corsages, and other decorations. Works as a team to set up and break down of events.

Experience

 

2-3 years experience required

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.

A working knowledge of the safety practices and procedures.

Working knowledge of floral design.

Excellent customer service skills.

Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

Ability to work in a team.
Clean driving record.
Able to drive delivery van.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Arrange both real and artificial flowers for clients and events.

 

Fill special orders for holidays or other occasions.

 

Assist with holiday decorating and break down.

 

Works with head designer to fulfill client’s vision for weddings and events.

 

Works with a wide range of foliage.

 

Unpacks flowers and prepares them for storage.

 

Delivers flowers as needed.

 

Consults with clients and presents oneself in a professional manner.

 

Has great customer service skills and maintains positive attitude and professionalism at all times.

 

Reports safety hazards to manager on duty. Reports all employee accidents to manager on duty.

 

Maintains positive attitude and professionalism at all times.

 

Other duties assigned as needed.

 

Qualifications

Education: Entry level position. 2-3 years related experience preferred.

 

Language: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, vendors and co-workers.

 

Computer skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to use basic computer programs and time clock systems.

Hours and Availability

Typical workweek: 25-35 hours

*May be more hours during high event seasons.

 

Hours vary depending on business demand.

Benefits and Pay

Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week. Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.

This position starts at $16 - $18/hr, based on experience
