Job Overview

Trainwreck is the largest, most elite sports bar in Downtown Colorado Springs. Spreading over 2 acres, Trainwreck boasts 4 volleyball courts, 4 golf simulators, a stadium-size indoor TV, and large backyard filled with cabanas, picnic tables and outdoor games.

The Event Coordinator / Floor Manager position is a hybrid role. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for responding to leads, taking phone calls, assisting with booking reservations and building proposals for events. Performs tours, conducts planning meetings with clients, oversees the event’s execution and ensures guests’ satisfaction. Additionally, the Event Coordinator assists with running shifts and performing opening and closing duties as needed.

Experience

Experience is the hospitality industry is required.

Experience with event coordinating or sales experience is required.

Management experience is required.

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.
A working knowledge of the practices and procedures in event sales.
Excellent customer service skills.
Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
Ability to effectively communicate details and requirements of the event to other departments, clients and staff. Strong organizational skills and accurate work practices.
Ability to work in non designated office space.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain the highest quality and consistent customer service.

Coordinate and oversee events from beginning to end. Conduct and arrange tours and planning meetings.

Be on time for all meetings, phone calls and tours. Tardiness will not be tolerated.

Takes event inquiries and creates profitable event proposals. Must be able to use Microsoft Office and event planning applications proficiently.

Assists in event set-up, cleaning and distributing of food and beverage when needed. Oversees and directs room set up and supervises event’s progress.

Communciates all details with clients, staff and vendors to exceed event expectations.
Must have a thorough understanding of the sales process and strive to exceed financial goals.

Responds proactively to customer complaints. Maintains professionalism and is friendly and approachable towards guests and staff.

Controls liquor inventory and ensures best practices on alcohol consumption are being followed. Must be familiar with all menu items noting allergies and dietary restrictions.

Assists the management team in planning and coordinating in-house promotions and events such as themed parties, trivia nights, or sporting event specials.

Oversees the flow of shifts, including conducting staff’s pre-shifts and check outs, performing opening and closing duties. Acts as the Manager on Duty when other managers are not present.

Ensures guests are being greeted, served and treated with excellent customer service. Works quickly to resolve guest complaints or issues.

Documents and reports incidents regarding employees and/or guests to upper management.

Assists with other miscellaneous management tasks such as completing checklists or projects as needed.

Must be meticulous and detailed. Complete all other duties as assigned.

Education: 3 years related experience preferred.

Hours and Availability

This is a Full Time position, requiring open availability. 35-45 hours/week. May vary based on business needs.

Benefits and Pay

Benefits are offered to all Full Time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.

This position starts at $23-$25/hr, + 1% commission on event food and beverage sales.
