Catering Sales Associate Position
Job Overview
The Catering Sales Director is responsible for the development of catering business by identifying leads and proactively and creatively pursuing these leads to result in catering orders and events. It is the primary responsibility of the Catering Sales Manager to generate revenue by generating leads and converting them to sales with a heavy concentration in the wedding, corporate, local and social markets. This position will be responsible for contracting and closing wedding, corporate, local and social catering business. The Catering Sales Director will assist with selling and implementing catering promotions, and maximizing revenue by meeting with corporate markets.
The Sales Director will offer personalized solutions for our clients and enhance our reputation and business. The ideal candidate will possess extraordinary networking and client relation skills and good knowledge of the local catering market. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Creativity and passion are essential. Work is performed in an office and onsite venue meeting locations. Requires the ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate must be extremely organized, personable and enthusiastic.
Duties & Responsibilities
Produces and manages sales based on leads via incoming phone calls, email inquiries, or internal referrals with the purpose of converting the lead to a sale. Identify, qualify and solicit new catering business to achieve revenue goals. Produce sales based on new and current clients.
Has an understanding of the details pertaining to the execution of wedding, corporate, local, social market and small group market events.
Assist with selling and implementing catering promotions.
Works directly with clients, and event/wedding planners, gathering necessary information for events and turns over event details to planners in a timely manner.
Promotes a pro-active work environment that creates an atmosphere of teamwork and quality service.
Promotes positive guest relations.
Will work cooperatively with outside vendors to conduct business professionally and in the best interest of the company.
Performs other job related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change depending on business needs.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred: Hospitality Management Degree beneficial.
Work Experience: 3-5 years previous sales experience preferred. Some hospitality & food/beverage sales experience required.
Language: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, vendors and co-workers.

Typical workweek: 40-45 hours
