Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include ensuring the efficient flow of orders, ensuring orders are being

prepared with the correct priority, and assisting in the final preparation of dishes. Works as a team to execute

excellent customer service and an amazing guest experience.

Experience

1-2 years experience in a kitchen is required.

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business

demands.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of safe food handling.

Ability to multi task with strong organization skills.

SERV-SAFE certified.

Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

Ability to work in a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures smooth workflow of orders from kitchen and ensures orders are being prepared according to the correct

priority.

Assist in the final preparation of dishes and check items leaving the kitchen for accuracy, proper presentation and

temperature.

Ensures all guests in the same party are served at once and no orders are missing. Quickly corrects order errors to

accommodate guests.

Pays attention to allergy information or specific requests.

Inspects the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning duties.

Makes sure that the hygiene and food safety standards are met.

Maintains professionalism and is friendly and approachable towards guests and staff.

Reports safety hazards to manager on duty. Reports all employee accidents to manager on duty.

Well organized and maintains sense of urgency in kitchen.

Excellent verbal communication skills and has the ability to multi-task.Complete all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

Education: This is an experienced culinary level position. 2-3 years related experience required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Excellent verbal

communication skills with a customer oriented approach to problem solving.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply basic arithmetic to common food service applications: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all

units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and

percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram

form. Ability to be adaptable to sudden changes in production plans, scheduling, and resource allocation, and

adept at service recovery.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ServSafe certification preferred and should be obtained within 90 days of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job functions are performed primarily in a clean, ventilated, well-lighted temperature controlled environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold

and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is

occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work

environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of

Hours and Availability
Typical workweek: 25-40 hours.

Hours vary depending on business demand.

Benefits and Pay

Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week.

Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a

free life insurance policy.

This position starts at $16-$18/hr, based on experience
