Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of guests and staff while consistently and fairly enforcing the bar entry laws of the establishment.

Experience 

 

1 year experience with law enforcement or security is preferred.

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.

A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of law enforcement and crowd control.

Unrivaled observational and conflict management skills.

Excellent verbal communication skills, approachable yet has the ability to be stern, as required.

Ability to remain calm during a crisis situation.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Maintain the highest quality and consistent customer service.

 

Follow all company procedures and state and local guidelines and laws.

 

Control who enters and exits the premises. Greets and assists guests as they enter the building and checks ID’s to ensure compliance with drinking laws. Furnish wrist bands, stamps or collect event tickets to determine guests rightful admission.

 

Maintains professionalism and is friendly and approachable towards guests and staff. Steers guests to accessible amenities and thanks guests as they exit the property. 

 

Reports directly to the General Manager. 

 

Assists service staff with guests needs, including food service and set up and clean up when needed. 

 

Be aware of situations in the bar that could escalate into altercations and intervene to control and minimize harm to guests and staff.

 

Look for any illegal or suspect activity and calls the proper authorities in case of problems.

 

Escort unruly guests off premises, arranges transportation for intoxicated guests.

 

Clears out bar at closing time and keeps property secured.

 

Follows procedures for conflict resolution.

 

Attends staff meetings.

 

Complete all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education: 1 year related experience preferred.

 

Language: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, vendors and co-workers.

Hours and Availability 

Typical workweek: 20-40 hours 

*May be more hours during high event seasons.

Evening and weekend availability is required.

Hours vary depending on business demand.

Benefits and Pay

Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week. Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.

This position starts at $18/hr
